10 Steps to a Happier 2010

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

Step #1: Define Happiness

First ask, “What makes me happy?” Think carefully about this because your definition of happiness may be very different from the cultural norm (I know mine is!) and it will influence every other significant decision in your life.
For example, my husband and I both choose to work part-time. We make much less than we could if we worked more, but we enjoy the balance we’ve created in our lives. Knowing this has guided our attitudes toward our family, childrearing, and money and success.
One caveat: when you’re thinking about what makes you happy, try to look close to home. Thinking that happiness is somewhere “out there”—in the next partner, or job, or vacation—makes things so much harder than they have to be.
On the other hand, if you believe happiness is found inside you, then happiness becomes a compass and a teacher that leads you to live your best life.

Step #2: Accept Yourself

Acceptance for your self may be the most important step on your path to happiness. When you accept that you are fine just the way you are right now, you will experience more happiness right now. When you no longer push yourself to be different, you will find peace and with it greater happiness.

Step #3: Follow Your Bliss

There has never been any better advice than Joseph Campbell’s “Follow your bliss.” Following your bliss is about listening to your heart’s desires, noticing what truly inspires you and making time for those activities. As long as you are devoting some part of your day to something that delights you – even if it is only 15 minutes a day – you will be happier.
But there’s even more to it than just carving out that 15 minutes to be happy. The Law of Attraction states that energy flows where attention goes.

Once you create even that small space for joy in your life, you will find that the joy overflows into the rest of the day, and it will become easier to feel joy even from the things that you don’t immediately regard as blissful. But it all starts with recognizing what makes you happy and giving it time in the course of your life.

Step #4: Choose Happiness

As I mentioned earlier some people believe that happiness is just around the corner, right after they get that perfect job or partner. That’s chasing happiness. I believe in choosing happiness.
Many who choose happiness do it unconsciously, and they do it by following the first two steps above: they notice what makes them happy, and they make time for it in their lives. There are no drawbacks to doing the same thing on purpose, however. If you take the previous two steps you will have set the intention to be happy, and happiness is certain to follow.
Of course, stressful or unexpected events happen, so this step is all about re-intending to be happy—no matter what—after something knocks you off your stride. Setting (and re-setting!) a positive intention to let the next moment (and then the next!) delight you is a great way to have a happy day (and a happy life).

Step #5: Your Joy List

It’s easy to overlook a lot of the things that make us happy simply because it doesn’t cost anything. That’s one of the problems with chasing happiness: it can make us disregard the things that make us happy in the present because a) they’re not what we think we really want, and b) they don’t seem likely to get us what we think we want.
The answer to this is to make a joy list of everything in your life that costs no money and delights you, like laughter, friendship, walks outside, kindness and birds in flight.
Keep your list close and appreciate all the delights that are available to you – and then enjoy at least one of them daily. (Easy to do when you’ve carved out that 15 minutes, right?)

Step #6: Honor Your Priorities

When people are asked what they care about most, time and time again they say their family and friends. When we honor these priorities, it pays off: people who give their time, energy and attention to their most important relationships are sure to experience more happiness.
All too often, however, our most important relationships compete with our jobs and myriad other responsibilities. But even the busiest schedules can allow for important personal relationships when they are made a priority. All it takes is a little practice.
When requests are made of your time, be prepared to answer: “I’m sorry, I can’t. My priority right now is time with my family (or friends, or walks with my dog…). Could we look at next week (or month, or year)?”
You might even want to practice these phrases in a mirror when you get a spare minute. After a few times you’ll become a pro at honoring your priorities, and you’ll see how good that feels.

Step #7: Practice Forgiveness

In order to be happy now, you have to let go of resentment. Everyone knows what it’s like to experience disappointment. But when you wish or expect things to be different than they are you make yourself powerless—a passive victim—and that never feels good.
When you forgive someone or something for not being what you wanted or needed, you not only create space for better feeling emotions, you take charge of the situation—you exert your own power over it. If you do this, you will feel relief, and that is an important step back in the direction of happiness.
Step #8: Voice Your Gratitude
Get in the habit of saying out loud three things you are grateful for. Do this right now, before you go on reading this. Gratitude is often referred to as the shortest shortcut to happiness, and you’ll find that the more grateful you are, the happier you will feel.

Step #9: Take Exquisite Care of Yourself

This step doesn’t need a lot of explanation. Just be kind to yourself. Life always gets better when you treat yourself well.

Step #10: Be Present

Focusing on some disappointment from the past or some hope for the future are the chief causes of unhappiness. In the English language, the word “present” has three distinct meanings: “here”, “now” and “a gift.”
The more present you are in each moment, the more happiness you will find—the more gifts will open in front of you as you watch. Take a deep breath, look around you, find something to appreciate, and you’ll see what I mean.
I hope you will find these steps helpful and give yourself the gift of being truly happy in 2010.

Design Your Day

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

How often do you let circumstances set the pattern for each day? Do other people and events in your day set off feelings and emotions that comprise of anger, frustration, impatience and many others?

When you allow this to happen, you are forgetting the one power that is available to all of us! The Law of Attraction. When using this law, every day can be a fantastic day. Start to create and design your day by using intentions and visualization.

From the first moment you wake up in the morning, spend at least 10 minutes thinking about all the things you would like to experience that day. Such as what type of workday would you like? What type of people would you like to meet?
How about receiving a opportunity to further your career or perhaps enhance your financial situation!

Find a notebook and pen and write down all the experiences you wish to happen that day, then spend a few minutes to imagine each and every experience in your mind, just as you would like them to happen. Think of it as watching a film or a play in your mind, see the story line unfold before your eyes.

The most important aspect of this visualization is to allow yourself to feel that it is actually happening now. Feel the excitement, the joy, the happiness and gratitude as you enjoy the experiences one after the other.

Once you have finished, you should be feeling fantastic; full of excitement and high expectations for the coming day.

Now continue with your normal routines for the day, but taking extra care not to allow yourself to be “connected” to any particular event or experience, just have an open mind to whatever shows up. Remember, keep affirming to yourself all the great things that are going to happen to you that day and you feel great about all the things in your life.

Now you have all this positive energy don’t allow the feelings of anxiety, worry, frustration and anger interfere with your day. Keep those positive images that you visualized earlier to flow through the day. Keep affirming and believe that great things are happening, even if you don’t see them just yet.

Use this process on a daily basis and not by coincidence you’ll begin to see good things start to happen. All of a sudden opportunities’ appear and you will find yourself in the “right place at the right time”.

Law Of Attraction Success: How To Attract Success Into Your Life

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Many people study the law of attraction and instantly believe that they can create any type of life they desire to create. This belief is entirely true and possible, but before you start applying the law of attraction in your own life, you should know that you can create an experience you want to avoid by using the law of attraction just as easily as you can create an experience that you do want. The following article will talk about how you can give your attention to what you want in order to acquire law of attraction success.

In most cases, people can easily achieve any goal they set their minds to. Many people will often focus on what they do not want when they try to achieve their goals though. This means, most people attract experiences that they do not want when they are attempting to achieve their goals. If you desire to achieve your goals, all you need to do is direct all of your attention towards what you truly want.

It may seem practically impossible to avoid giving your attention to what you don’t want in this contrasting world though. Whenever you happen to find yourself giving attention to a subject that you don’t want more of, such as the opposite of success, simply adjust your point of attention to what you truly do want, success. As you perform this process, you will attract more of what you want and less of what you don’t want.

Success can be achieved with ease. In fact, success is just as easy to achieve as failure is. If you wish to achieve success, simply keep your mind consistently focused on what you desire to achieve. As you focus on the good feeling thoughts you have in your mind, you will be able to consistently move your life towards successful outcomes.

If you want to achieve success in particular, there are many different paths you can take to increase the success you experience throughout your life. Most average people are capable of achieving a grand amount of success by simply eliminating thoughts that relate to failure from their thought processes. If you could simply avoid giving thought to failure, you will almost certainly achieve success in any venture you take on. The easiest way to achieve success specifically though, is by giving your attention to the outcome you desire to create.

If you are like most people though, it is likely that you will consistently find yourself focusing on the worst possible outcomes. Many people consistently focus on the worst possible outcomes, and they consistently find themselves experiencing the worst possible outcomes too. If you wish to achieve more success than the average person, you should definitely move your focus away from the worst possible outcomes, and give your attention to the best possible outcomes.

The best aspect of giving your attention to positive outcomes is the fact that you will begin to attract more thoughts that relate to the subject of success. As you attract experiences and thoughts that relate to success, keeping your focus on success will become easier as well.

The best way to maintain your focus on success is by practicing giving thought to positive outcomes that can result from your venture. As you consistently practice giving thought to the positive outcomes that can result from your venture, you will continually attract thoughts that relate to success, and more successful life experiences too.

Basically, in order to acquire law of attraction success, simply give your thoughts and your attention to the outcome of success. As you consistently give your thoughts and your attention to the outcome of success, the outcome of success will become inevitable.

Why the Law of Attraction Will Not Help You Achieve Your Goals Unless You Obey the 4 Laws of Action

Sunday, March 14th, 2010

Do you think you can you really just think and grow rich?

Well, you’re in for a rude awakening. I am sure that even Napoleon Hill would agree with me that you cannot merely think and grow rich. The Law of Attraction only works when paired with what I like to call the Law of Action.

As a former manager of large building projects, I know that you can’t think a building into being. That would be absurd. Yes, every project begins with a vision and inspiration. But you can only visualize for so long. For the building to take form you need detailed blueprints. Then you need to assemble the right materials. And, finally you need to hire the right people with the right skills set.

Why would you think that’s any different with your business and life goals? I’ve talked to many people who visualize and use affirmations waiting for the Law of Attraction to work but they remain stuck in a rut. They’re sitting around wondering why they’re not making any progress.

Why Most People Fail to Successfully Achieve Their Goals

They are missing ACTION. They are NOT taking steps to achieve their goals. It’s like they’re waiting for results to come on a silver platter just because they’re visualizing success. I’m going to tell you right now – you get exactly what you put into it.

If you take action and you increase your speed of implementation, you’ll experience a phenomenon. In fact, there’s a good chance that you’ll be able to achieve more in the next 12 months than you did in the previous 12 years.

4 Laws of Action to Add to the Law of Attraction to Help You Achieve Your Goals:

Law #1: Take a look at your affirmations and make sure they are about things you have a true passion for. That probably sounds obvious but all too often we pursue things because it pleases a family member or because we think it would be financially lucrative, even though our heart isn’t in it.

Law #2: Use very precise wording when visualizing or using affirmations. Instead of saying, “I’m a millionaire,” say “I’m in the process of becoming a millionaire real estate investor.” Be precise and acknowledge that you are in the process of becoming whatever it is you want to become. It will be easier for your subconscious to align itself with that.

Law #3: Create weekly and monthly goals. This is where the Law of Action enters the picture. Sit down with your calendar at the beginning of each month and write down your goal for that month. Maybe it’s a specific income goal or a goal about closing a real estate deal for example. Then write down the specific actions you will take each week to accomplish that goal. Also include actions such as training, reading and networking.

Law #4 Have a clear plan for your day and be sure to reflect and learn from the powerful lessons that come your way each day. Ask yourself these 7 key questions at the end of every day. I have found that when I do this in a purposeful manner, everyday, it completely changes both my outcomes and my outlook on life.

* What made me happy today?

Think of all the things that made you happy, and list them. They could be the beautiful sunrise, the smile of a child, a connection you make with someone or the difference you made in the life of someone.

* What am I grateful for today?

Instead of complaining, try being grateful for everything you have. Remember that most people in the world likely have far, far less to be grateful for than you do.

* What lessons did I learn today?

Life is full of lessons both small and big. We learn from both the good things that happen to us and the not-so-good things. Write these lessons down and review them once a week and over time you will be amazed at how much you have learned.

* What was my good deed today?

This has been the most difficult question for me. I try to live a life helping people. I contribute to various causes. But my definition of a good deed is doing something that I went out of my way to do for someone else, with no expectation of gain (as opposed to opening the door for someone, letting a car butt in ahead of me or other acts of civility.)

* What was important to me today?

Reaching milestones, targets, and acquiring new customers is important to me. But do I really want those milestones to define what is the most important to me? Yes, goals are important but am I concentrating on the goals that are truly the most important to me? Keep your perspective on life. Pay careful attention to what is truly makes you happy.

* What did I do to move me towards my goals today?

As you reflect on each day, think about the three or four key life goals that you have outlined for yourself. Ask yourself honestly how the things you did today helped you stay on track with one or more of those goals?

* What will make tomorrow even more outstanding?

Every day, I visualize what my next day will be like and what outcomes I will achieve. I prescribe an amazing day for my next day. A funny thing happens. That is exactly how the vast majority of my days appear.

So go ahead and prescribe a fantastic day full of purpose every day – and watch yourself attracting what you visualize, day by day!

Money Mind Set … Law of Attraction

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

One of the most essential ingredients to run your life is money. Your experiences in day to day living must have made you realise how difficult or easy it is to make money on a regular basis. Does money flow to you easily or do you have to work very hard and put in efforts to earn money?

These questions are thought provoking and your thoughts will reveal your mind set about money and richness. Your life experiences will reveal whether you have a mind set for wealth or you lack the mind set for it. It is actually your mind set that creates your experience.

Have you ever realised this important truth, that it is your thoughts that trigger your emotions. Your emotional state emits a specific “frequency” of energy to the universe, and the universe returns events and experiences into your life, that correspond with your emotional frequency. Your mind set is actually the way you think and believe on a regular basis. This in turn activates The Law of Attraction.

When you think and feel positively on a regular basis, everything in your life seems to “flow” more easily, including money. When your thoughts and emotions lean more toward the negative side on a regular basis, you experience more problems, setbacks and financial lack in your life.

Also important are your beliefs. Your beliefs form the structure of what is possible for you. If you believe you have to work hard to have a lot of money, you’ll create exactly that experience for yourself. If you don’t believe you deserve more than a certain amount of money, you’ll block more from money from arriving. Whatever your beliefs are, they are your TRUTH, and you will subconsciously create evidence that supports that truth over and over again until you learn to do things differently.

The Secret of Positive Thinking

Saturday, December 26th, 2009

We all want to create our own reality because it will give us power over our circumstance and happiness in choosing what we deserve. When I was younger, my father used to tell me that I was such a pessimist and that will not give me anything good in life because it’s the positive thinker who succeed and get more out of life and live happier. Later in life, I found out that positive thinkers have infinite advantages even to their health, relationships, and their family because optimism expects things to work out and this is what manifests in their reality.

It is important that you cultivate positive thinking because the universe is a benevolent place in that it delivers the signal you emit irrespective of whether they are wanted or unwanted. Every thought is like a seed, you cultivate it every time you think the same thought over and over again and it is fertilized when it is backed with emotions and the more intense that thought become, the more likely it is to come into your experience and manifest faster this is because thoughts exist at a much higher and faster frequency.

If you want to create everything you want in your life you have to master the secret of positive thinking using the Law of Attraction principles because it will teach you to be consciously aware of your thoughts so that you will be able to focus your experiences in desired directions. It is interesting to note that, in a study conducted by Harvard University student it shows that those who were positive in their orientation were significantly healthier at ages 45-60 and lived longer lives than those who are negative in their orientation. Positive thinkers also experience less stress because they believe in themselves and their abilities to create more positive events in their lives.

Be with positive people because positive thinking is contagious and you will be able to learn a lot from them to help you become more positive in your orientation. Remember that what you focus on, you will attract into your life so whenever your thoughts are clouded by negativity try to shift your awareness through meditation by listening to your favorite music or reading a book. Positive thinking will give you just about anything you want in life because it makes you feel good and by the Law of Attraction, it will bring you more things to sustain that feeling.

Power Of Mind: How To Attain Great Success In 3 Simple Steps!

Monday, November 9th, 2009

The power of mind is a concept that has been around for a very long time. It refers to our ability to control our own lives without getting influenced by any negative external forces. Whether you realize it or not, this idea actually plays an important role in determining our success in life. Many names have also been evolved around this same idea, such as “we are what we think we are”, “Positive Thinking” and “Law of Attraction“.

So how is it possible that simply by using our power of mind, we can get what we want?

1. Generate positive energy
In order to attain success, it is vital that we control our thought process because if we focus too much on the negative thoughts, the negative energy produced will be just as much. For example, if we have a fear of failing in our business venture and constantly think about it, we will be more likely to meet with obstacles and negative results. Thus, the chances of really failing will be high so we should never allow our negative energy to manifest within us.

On the other hand, when we train our mind to focus on the positive thoughts instead, we will generate more positive energy which can then help us to achieve our goals.

2. Conditioning our mind
Studies done have shown that we are shaped by our own conscious and unconscious thoughts. Therefore, if we make use of the power of our mind and condition our unconscious mind into believe that we have already achieved what we want, we will be able to achieve success in no time at all. What we need to do is to visualize the good things that we want in life and this should be done everyday. Over time, our mind will believe that we already have our desired lifestyle and when our mind does not see the things in real life, it will search for it and start work towards achieving it.

Similarly, it is vital to stop thinking about the ‘what ifs?’ Should you feel that your mind has wondered off to think about something negative in your life, switch to the positive thinking mode immediately.

3. Believe in our rights to the goodness in life
Once we know what we want and have been visualizing our wants in our minds, the next step is to condition our minds into believing that we deserve all the good things in life. We should also ‘trick’ our mind into thinking that it is already waiting for us at the end of the path. Create a desire to want to achieve all these things through our power of mind and we will be able to generate more positive energy within us. We are actually building up the “positive thinking” step and by focusing on it, we will be brought one step closer to success.

Everyone is capable of achieving great success through using our power of mind to focus on only the positive thoughts. If you really do want to have a better life, then start applying the 3 steps above, starting from today and you will have a pleasant surprise.

Ready to make full use of your power of mind to change your life for the better? Check out http://www.powerofmindtips.com FREE special report given.

Motivation Secrets

Sunday, August 9th, 2009

One of the hardest things for most people is to be able to keep themselves at a high level of motivation at all times. There are always going to be small setbacks or obstacles that you have to overcome to achieve your dreams, but with the right levels of consistent motivation, you will be able to get over or around them.

Do you feel that you are always at a peak level of motivation?

What are some secrets to help you stay highly motivated and inspired to consistently strive towards what you want in life?

1. Develop a clear and concise mental picture of what you want to achieve or accomplish. We are hardwired to respond to images, some people more so than others. When you can keep a vivid picture or image in your head of exactly what you want, it is hard not to get back into a peak state of mind.

2. Learning how to develop a plan of action. Without one, you are almost doomed to fail. You have to create a map to getting to where you want to be. Otherwise, it is far too easy to feel lost and feel like giving up.

3. Allowing yourself to rest and relax. Yes, this is just as important as taking action. You need to have a balance or else it will be too easy to get burnt out and lose that inspiration to take action when you need to.

These 3 secrets should help you get off to a good start.
